Siatica: Most LBP or sciatica is not serious and goes away with time, physio, and simple analgesia.  Warning signs include numbness, weakness, urinary or defecating problems, or fever.  If you are older or have a cancer that is concerning also.  If any concerns or symptoms persist you should see your doctor.  If symptoms persist and sleep is an issue tricyclics may be worth discussing with your doctor.

Pillow under knees: Sciatica pain is most severe when the legs are straight so sleep on your back with a pillow rolled up and placed underneath your knees.

Yes: Sleeping on stomach causes back extension which increases stress on facet joints and closes foramen this can put more pressure on nerve roots and increase back and leg pain.

i sleep on my arm crossed under my chest and i'm noticing pain in tendon in the morning for a couple of min. should i worry about permanent  damage?

Monitor/seek help: I would monitor this -- keep a diary for 1 week. You do not know how many hours you may be straining this area and you should be concerned. Obviously, try to sleep in another position to totally eliminate this problem. If it persists, see sports medicine MD or Orthopaedics MD. Good Luck.
