if the DX of schizoaffective disorder is correct in the person you are thinking of, most people with schizoaffective d/o have significant adhd symptoms. Be very careful about stimulant use in schizoaffective d/o.

Mood symptoms: Both disorders have prominent distortions of reality, with hallucination, delusions, and problems with thought processes.  However, schizoaffective disorder also has prominent mood symptoms, depresison or mania, that occur in the same timeframe.  Schizophrenia can have some associated mood disturbance, but usually not during the episode.

Yes: You can have schizoaffective disorder and diabetes, schizoaffective disorder and ptsd, schizoaffective disorder and adhd.  You can also take medications for both conditions.  With your particular combination, i would encourage you to do regular aerobic exercise, get adequate sleep, do mindfulness meditation, and eft (emotional freedom technique / tapping) -- to get mind & body better regulated.

Similar, indeed: It may be really difficult to tell the difference. Cognition elements like perceptual disturbances (i.e. Hallucinations) and/or disordered thought processes, including delusions and disorganized speech and thinking are primary in both. Frequent episodes of significant mood disorder (high and/or low) is also present in schizoaffective disorder. In simple schizophrenia mood is often flat.

Combination symptoms: Schizoaffective d/o can be thought of as a combination of bilpolar and scizophrenia symptoms. As with bipolar, schizoaffective have mood swings that can range from depression to mania. However, the person usually exhibits psychosis more charaxteristic of schiz, bizarre delusions. Functioning is often severly impaired and it's a chronic illness.
