i am having scar tissue pain after diskectomy--can this go away?

Yes: About 2% of patients after a disectomy get recurrent pain over the same nerve distribution  several weeks after surgery with 50% of these improving over a 2 year period.  The rest can either live with their pain or be managed on medication or with injections through pain management or even with a device implanted called a spinal cord stimulator.

Pain in scars: Scar tissue pain commonly diminishes within 1 year, but persistent or worsening pain should be evaluated by a physician.  Sensory nerve endings trapped in scars will be painful with position, movement, or stretching.  Chronic inflammation is another issue that warrants attention.

can scar  tissue in  the inguinal  area   cause  pain  to  travel  to  the  lower  and  upper  hip  part  of  the  hip.  i  have  had a  mri   that  shows  scar  tissue,  pain is  at the  hip  24 -7?

See answer: Though scar tissue in the inguinal region from prior surgery (most commonly inguinal hernia repair) can be associated with pain in the groin an/or testicular region, it would be quite unusual to cause any significant pain in the hip area and would search for another cause.

No one is likely to propose additional procedures for complications from 1 or multiple prior procedures unless confident it will help because additional procedures tend to multiply complications. 2nd opinion should also be from a surgeon radiologist or anesthesiologist.

Scar can be painless: In the past we often said if a patient didn't get better it was from scar tissue.  I personally feel that this is rare that scarring around the nerves causes pain but rather the pain is due to the initial damage to nerve and may made worse by manipulation at surgery.

Shoulder: Depending on what part of the shoulder blade it is located on it could be some calcification that has developed after the contusion that occurred, probably the best person to see would be a orthopedic surgeon who could further evaluate this concern, they could possibly get x-rays if indicated or obtain an MRI to make sure this is nothing more then post from attic scar tissueor calcification. had a talus facture surgery two weeks ago. i have some movement to my ankle but a times u having pulling of the scar tissue and pain  around the bone.

No surprise!: It takes a while to recover from any surgery.  It is a major illness.  If you are improving instead of worsening, great!  If you are getting worse, though, contact your surgeon right away!  Your best result depends on following your surgeon's instructions, who knows the best way for you to recover as completely and rapidly as possible.

is it normal to have 2 disctechtomys in the space of  18 months? my first has now left substantial scar tissue meaning permanent pain what will help

Talk to your doctors: Not normal but not unheard of either  scarring is a problem because attempts to remove it may just cause more scar to grow back.  Talk to your doctors about options. You may need to see pain management.
