Wisdom teeth ?: Really hard to tell without an examination with radiographs. Your best bet is to have it checked by your dentist... make the call.

just noticed irregular/scalloped bumps on back of tongue on sides - one side worse than other-they don't hurt or bleed - what could this be?  worried

Sleep apnea: Tongue scalloping (marks of teeth on the borders) is a useful clinical indicator of sleep pathology and its presence should prompt the physician to inquire about snoring history and polysomnography test-sleep study. Clenching your teeth also a cause for the tongue scalloping.

Examination: Tongue bumps are not a normal part of your anatomy, and as such, need to be evaluated. Your social habits also come into play, including drinking, smoking, and use of chewing tobacco. Please see a local oral surgeon for evaluation.. These lesions cannot be diagnosed over the internet.

hi last question as i am following all experts comments i am having a sore throat with a sore tongue, bump on roof of the mouth after oral sex, from 8 mnths tested hiv 4 gen neg at 15 weeks, its means i am hiv free, no matter how many symtoms i have?

: Yes, you are HIV free for sure. As you may have heard in reply to previous question(s), the modern HIV tests NEVER are wrong more than several weeks after the last exposure. Negative results ALWAYS overrule any and all symptoms or exposure history. And these symptoms do not suggest HIV anyway. See a doctor if you remain concerned, but there is no point in asking again on this forum. Thanks.

Food reaction?: Bumps on the tongue could be caused by acidic foods. If so, they should go away on their own within a few days.
If they last longer, see a dentist.

Bump: She may have bitten her tongue, but best check it out with your dentist

Get checked!: Red is a warning sign.  Get that bump checked.  It may not be serious, but if it is serious sooner is better. Start with your dentist. He/she will guide you if further care is necessary.  And he can check the white tongue issue as well.

Probably normal: Everybody has a row of 7-10 prominent bumps on the back of the tongue, called circumvallate papillae. Google it; lots of photos are available.
