Scabies:  itchy bug: For  years a home remedy for scabies included the over the counter product known as lindane.  This is a 1% solution of permethrin.

But, over the past couple of decades these litter buggers have become more and more resistant to this treatment.

Thus, unfortunately you need to get a prescription for the stronger and more effective 5% solution of permethrin.  Then you need to use twice over night.

Give it time: It can take 2-3 weeks for symptoms of scabies to clear up. The medicine kills the mites, but the body continues to react to the dead mites, the eggs they passed, etc -- until they are absorbed. If still no better at 3 weeks, try another round of treatment.

Better to wash off: It is better to wash of under 14 hours. It is best to apply before bed and then shower off in the morning.   In addition, you should wash all her pajamas/bed cloths, the bed sheets and pillow cases after she wakes and showers.  A normal wash cycle for the cloths and sheets is fine.  It is very important to repeat this two weeks after the first treatment.

You aren't likely to see mites.
