my lips are missing layers of skin from biting my lips. they scab up badly but don't heal. is a skin graft possible?

: Firstly, you must stop biting your lips. A scab is nature's way of bandaging &amp; protecting your lips from bacteria &amp; further trauma.. Apply warm compresses and apply moisturizer like aquaphor to prevent dryness. I don't think you're a candidate for a skin graft. Consult an oral surgeon for further advice.

can i exfoliate a hypopigmented scar on my lip until it scabs over? will it heal darker?

Scar: In order for a hypopigmented scar to repigment, melanocytes will need to migrate from the adjacent normal epidermis or the hair follicles. If exfoliation is performed to the depth where it causes scabbing, one has the potential to have textural changes and possibly scarring. It would be best to visit a Dermatologist and see if tacrolimus or pimecrolimus and/or Narrow band uvb would be appropriate.

i popped a zit on my lip and it became a yellow, crusty scab. since it is constantly moist or dirtied (from my mouth) how can i get it to heal?

Dab H2O2 frequently : In spite of the saliva and the tongue touching the pimple most heal quite nicely. Wash with plain water frequently and keep it as clean and dry as possible. Another way is to dab it with undiluted 3% hydrogen peroxide available OTC in any pharmacy, as frequently as possible and it shd heal as well too.

First do no harm: repeatedly picking off the scab makes it worse. Antibacterial creme might be slightly helpful.
There's not a good way to fix it immediately.

Your age?: It is hard to tell without you giving us any detail on the history or even your age. Although itching often points to an allergic contact condition( hair preparations especially black hair dye) , it may also be from a skin cancer.  Best to get them checked especially if you are over age 50.
