They’re more frequent in older people,heavy weight, high blood pressure, smokers, diabetics.But they can happen in young people because gravity worsens swelling and it could get infected.There are some special conditions that create wounds that don’t heal.It’s important to see the PCP to assess it, wrap it correctly and have follow ups.

i am covered with flea bites from my neck to my feet!  i need to stop the itching so the bites and scabs will heal and so i can sleep.

Flea bites - intense: Pain &amp; itching results from an allergic reaction to the materials that the fleas inject into the skin at the time of the bite. You can use over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone cream/ointment to relieve itching. Antihistamines you take by mouth may also help with itching =benadryl at night, zyrtec (cetirizine) during daytime. Scratching can lead to a skin infection - get your skin checked by physician ASAP.

Foreign body: If there is concern of glass particles remaining,  then a proper debridement of the area really needs to prevent infection.  Occasionally the child needs to be sedated in order to get a thorough cleaning of the area completed.  Also remember to make sure that the child’s tetanus shots are up-to-date.

Abrasion: A severe abrasion like this will take days or weeks to heal. Keep the area clean and dry and apply an antibacterial ointment daily. If spreading redness ,swelling or persistent pain develop see  a physician

Calcinosis a suspici: this may be calcinosis. Sometimes the body lays calcium down after inflammation .

Depending on the location this could also be very thick tissue and what is called a "porcelain scar."your physician will evaluate you and can do testing to clarify your question.
