HCGdiet looks unsafe: The HCG diet has a person eating 500 calories a day for more than a month. That's just one big slice of pizza a day. A 4-month old baby eats 500 calories a day. Anybody on 500 calories a day is on a starvation diet and will lose weight. It doesn't sound safe. Extremely low calorie diets don't work because the weight comes back when one starts eating again. Long-term lifestyle changes are needed.

Lo cal diet: Pregnant women have extremely high levels of HCG, yet they gain weight normally. I would not recommend HCG injections for weight loss. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Won't help: Hcg and B12 do not help weight loss. B12 is safe, can't guarantee safety of HCG in you as it depends upon too many factors. Don't know if you're getting your HCG legally or not, but it's probably very expensive waste of money.

Yes: If you are doing the 500 cal diet, it is best to stop. That kind of diet is not safe and will not provide you with enough nutrients.

Yes: The diet often recommended with HCG injections is very restrictive, and people often will not feel well. Unfortunately HCG has not been shown helpful for losing weight. I can't recommend it.

Yes but...: Hcg is not likely going to cause any harm but weight loss is due to the severe caloric restriction. In men with low testosterone and normal testes, it may work better because the HCG will increase the testosterone level. In women, HCG may increase progesterone. Higher Progesterone may lead to less anxiety and therefore less eating. Overall, smart eating plus increased activity is a better choice.

I wouldn't recommend: I wouldn't recommend the combination of domperidone and the HCG diet . I also wouldn't recommend the HCG diet.
