No: Igm rubella indicates recent exposure and body response to it. It does not refer immunity. Hence baby at risk for congenital rubella.

Should be positive: Igm is the immunoglobulin noted for coming out early in response to any illness or vaccine, it fades over time while igg come out a bit later and stays up longer. If your wife had a rubella vaccine a positive IgM indicates she had a good response to the vaccine and future pregnancies will not be at risk.

Don't conceive now: Do not conceive now. Positve igm means you have an acute exposure to rubella. If you are conceived now- your baby is at risk to have problem with growth and development as rubella is teratogenic to fetus. Rubella is a virus infection- it takes time until the infection is clearing up. Follow up with your doctor and have follow up on the rubella titer. You can try to conceive when the igm is negativ.

Rubella IgM: IgM means recent infection and chances of transmission vertically to fetus are rather high. Universal vaccination was started because it is very difficult to treat a baby born with rubella infection and I am unaware of an effective treatment for fetus. In such a case, would recommend working closely with infectious disease doctor and perinatologist to monitor the fetus to explore the options.

Rubella: The presence of igm antibodies suggests, but does not prove, that you have had infection in the "recent" past, but the absence of a rising titer in 3 wks also suggests that the infection was not immediately prior to the first testing.  Whether or not you choose to continue your pregnancy is a personal decision, but doubt that these values necessarily predict a negative outcome.  Good luck.

Yes: As we discussed, you have had toxoplamosis and developed antibodies to this organism and in future pregnancies it will not cross the placental boundries and infect the baby.  Good luck.

i am currently 5 weeks pregnant. received an mmr vaccination early dec 2019. did blood tests last week indicating a positive rubella igg and positive igm. will this have any negative impacts on the fetus?

No you're fine: As long as you weren't pregnant at the time of immunization, and it sounds like you weren't, the baby will be fine. The antibodies just show that the immunization worked and you are protected as is the baby.

hello how are you... please help me, i got tested for rubella igg and rubella igm when i was 8 weeks 3 days pregnant on 27october. now the problem is that both results came positive. please help me understand what this means im so worried?

: IgM is present at the time of infection and IgG denotes you have had the infection or vaccine in the past and  is of no worry now. If you had no symptoms of Rubella recently or have had it before then it  (IgM)could be false positive- have it repeated. Rubella infection during pregnancy affects the fetus negatively- that is why it is important to know. Good luck
