Yes: Rotator cuff pain usually causes a referred pattern down onto the lateral arm.  If it went farther than that, for instance into the hand; then you may have a pinched nerve in your neck.

Hard to say: Many potential causes, I would encourage you to be seen.  Most common causes would be a recurrent rotator cuff problem or a cervical radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the neck).  An exam and appropriate studies can likely reveal the cause.  Consider being seen.

i take 1200 mg/day of gabapentin for neuropathic burning shoulder pain that also has pain from rotator cuff pain.  but it still burns. any advice?

Increase or switch: Gabapentin 1200mg three times a day
there are othe rpharmacologic options for neuropathic pain, including lyrica, (pregabalin) tegretal and elavil. Other options exist which you can discuss with your physician.

im getting physical therapy for my rotator cuff surgery but now i have a burning pain in front of my shoulder.  did they over stretch?

Likely just muscle.: Physical therapy for rotator cuff is a mainstay of therapy for this.  With stretching and exercise the other muscles and tendons of the shoulder joint will become strengthened and stretched.  These muscles are likely not used to this at this point and so will become sore and burn as Lactic Acid builds up in them.   The best thing to do is to keep up with the pt.

7wk postsurgery for torn rotator cuff, nerve impingement, bone spur ground off&labrum repaired. my thumb,hand,forearm are swollen.have burning nerve pain.hurts bad to move wrist wrong. in pt. been icing and heating. how can i reduce swelling&pain?

Get examined!: At age 55 your most common cause for this pain would still be 'impingement' ( or bursitis). Labral tears causing this pain are less likely unless associated with the biceps 'anchor'( SLAP) lesions -- but less likely in isolation in your age group.Osteoarthritis can cause pain in this distribution . AC joint arthritis can also cause pain when rotating arm towards chest ( adduction). See an ORS! GL!

It's a tendon: A tendon is what attaches a muscle to a bone. This is what allows the skeleton to move. The muscle generates a force that is transmitted to the bone, through a tendon.  In the shoulder, the rotator cuff starts out as 4 muscles attached to the shoulder blade.  As they move toward the shoulder joint, the muscle turns into tendon.  This tendon is the rotator cuff and helps to move the shoulder joint.

Weakness and pain: It'd be very unusual for a 16 year old to have a cuff tear, unless unusual trauma were involved.  Most often the patient is over 40, and presents with weakness and pain.
The cuff tear patient will often have pain and weakness elevating the arm, may have difficulty lifting a gallon of milk into the fridge.  The pain is often mild at rest, worse with use.  Torn cuffs do not cause numbness.
