I understand: It must be very unpleasant to think of returning to that dentist, but they know more about the procedure you underwent than anyone and it may be that they can correct this. It may need extraction - often wisdom teeth can not be saved. So much pain or killer can't be good. See a dentist ASAP.

Possibly: Could be from manipulating your teeth, or from clenching over-night after the procedure.

Worth it ?: That is totally up to you. If you want to save that tooth (and if it needs root canal therapy, it probably also needs a crown) and you don't mind spending money on a tooth that is difficult to keep clean and probably won't last your lifetime, then do it. I've had mine taken out, and that's what i advise my patients, but the choice, again, is yours.

Possibly...: Part of the fatigue may be due to healing. Your body may be utilizing much energy to heal the treatment areas. If you are experiencing more pain or swelling than expected please do contact the dentists who performed the procedures.

Not Unusual: The tissues around that tooth may still be inflamed. That's why it hurts when you bite down. If the pain lasts more than a few days, see your treating dentist.

Depends: The type of surgery will often determine when and what can be eaten.  You should have and should follow specific instructions from the dentist/oral surgeon

Need to be patient: You need to give it a little time (sometimes a week or more). The nerves in the tooth are gone, but the nerves in the bone are still inflammed. Root canal therapy attempts to repair a really, really sick tooth... Give it a chance to heal.

Sorry : Sorry you are having so much trouble.

From what you described, the filling in your tooth is very deep, so deep that it is sitting right on top or touching the nerve in that tooth. It may or may not be infected yet.... Does the tooth hurt with hot or cold, especially cold? If so, the nerve is still alive. If it just hurts without sensitivity to thermal stimuli, then the nerve is dead.

Either way, if you are in so much pain, you will need root canal therapy. The therapy involves removal of that affected nerve so that your tooth won't hurt. It is a common procedure and not unexpected considering how deep the filling is.

It is too bad your first dentist did not explain this to you when he did the filling. You would not be suffering and would have already had the root canal started.

Extraction..: in my opinion, wisdom teeth are so far in the back of your mouth that it is usually extremely difficult to keep those areas disease free (from decay or gum disease). Bacteria therefore accumulate and cause decay and bone loss and can effect the teeth in front of them, your second molars.
