my twins are on formula. we are using similac sensitive but need to cut costs and wondered if parents choice or roger generics would be ok and safe?

Mgt: I would suggest buying the same formula or a national brand, at a large discount store such as Costco. It is important that the formula is made in the U.S. and has the same/similar ingredients and calories. I would suggest asking your Pediatrics clinic for samples and about the the WIC program which can help to cut costs.

While there are no medications specifically approved to treat anger alone, a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation will likely help you identify the reasons for your rage episodes and provide you with a comprehensive treatment plan that may include medication.

Eval: Anger is a normal human emotion.  However, if you have frequent bouts of rage, that is not normal. If this was the case, would recommend that you seek a psychiatric evaluation. This will allow the provider to work you up for possible underlying medical conditions as well as psychiatric conditions that are associated with anger & impulsivity problems.

See below: Know your triggers, what sets you off, do deep breathing, relaxation.  Be aware of mind-body connection --your body knows when you get angry. Keep a diary -- what happened, what thoughts were in your head, how you handled your rage. Best of all, if you feel, it's hard to control your rage-- seek help -- talk to a counselor or a therapist to help you figure out ways of dealing with rage.

PR: It is a nice time of year. Spend some time in the sun it speeds up resolution of the rash.  Otherwise it doesn't always but can take several weeks to resolve.  As an aside a rash which appears like PR but involves the palms and soles may represent secondary syphilis which is very important to diagnose and treat so it doesn't get worse or spread to others.

None: "rage" implies uncontrolled -- with forgetting the loveable aspects of the person you're angry with. Inability to contain one's own rage  is a serious problem that needs help. It can lead to abuse. Couples can have disagreements -- even arguments -- without breaking into rage. There's a lot people can do before it reaches that point, including taking a break from the discussion to calm down.

Techniques: These techniques won't cure the source of your rage - but boy can they help. 1. Deep breathing exercises. Breath in slowly and deeply through an open mouth. Hold air in your lungs for a 5 count. Exhale slowly through an open mouth. Focus on your breathing - not on your rage or what made you angry. Repeat until you feel calmer.  2. Check out progressive muscle relaxation on line. Take care.
