No: very unlikely. Dermatophytes live in the dead, outer layers of skin. Not on mucous membranes.

Contamination: Ringworm is a common name for a fungus that grows on outside skin tissue. The spores of the fungus can be found in soil, on animals or on people. If the spores contaminate your hands, fingers or fingernails, you can insert the spore on any outer skin surface. Over days or weeks the spore can begin a colony of the fungus that will feed on dead surface skin and grow outward in a ring.

hi i have had ringworm on my nose for a few weeks. the doc prescribed daktakort and i've used it for a week and it's still red. can it take a while?

Dakakort: Not familiar with dakakort but if indeed it is ringworm then an oral antifungal like Lamisil (terbinafine) is indicated.  See a derm for a simple test to make sure it is ringworm.

i have a rash that looks like ringworm on my face by my nose but i've been treating it with sporanox (itraconazole) but it's not going away...what else could it be?

Ring worm: You need to use Clotrimazole twice a day x 4-6 weeks to treat the rash. I am not sure how long the rash has been there, I would recommend seeing a doctor.

This could be at the aphthous stomatitis There are medical conditions that can cause this. You might ask your physician to have you see rheumatologist to clarify the diagnosis

As long as a child's doctor is monitoring the child's progress and rechecking him every so often during treatment, drug side effects are not expected. With children, doctors usually double-check the dosing to be sure it is correct for each child's weight.
