Carpal tunnel syndrome (a type of median neuropathy), ulnar neuropathy, or radial neuropathy may be present. Try to avoid pressure on the arm and hand while sleeping including awkward posturing. Call PCP for appt.: As a PCP, I feel as if I am better suited to treat this.  It is not clear to me that this is a breast issue and may be a waste of time to see the other doctor.  I would see the PCP, especially if you can get in sooner.  Good luck!

?Carpal Tunnel?: You may be having carpal tunnel syndrome.  This is a build up of pressure in the wrist that causes the nerve to the hand to hurt.  It causes hand numbness and pain up the arm.  It can be diagnosed and treated.  See you pcp or neurologist or hand surgeon or other health care provider dealing in this condition.  A nerve conduciton test may need to be done.  Surgery may be needed.  Splinting can help.

Nerve compression: The numbness in your hand is probably due to compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow, it will give you numbness of the little finger and ring fingers.You may olso be compressing the median nerve and that will give you numbness of the middle, index and thumb.You need to learn how to change positios very frquenly in order to avoid continuos compression of the nerve.

Carpal tunnel: Statistically the most common cause by far is carpal tunnel syndrome in which the median nerve is compress as it passes with 8 tendons trough a "tunnel" bounded by a thick ligament and multiple wrist bones. Other causes include bone spurs , nerve compression in neck, elbow, root of the neck, metabolic-nutritional imbalances. If your hand is weak or clumsy see an orthopedist or neurologist.
