the last couple months, i see slow flashes of light in my peripheral vision in right eye. it lasts a few seconds and goes away when i move my eyes?

When rt eye closed?: How do you know it's in your right EYE (as opposed to right FIELD of VISION)? Do the flashes of light (fol) go away when you close the right eye? Do the fol only appear on the right side of your body? Both eyes contribute to the sense of vision on the right side. Either retina could've detached, or you could've some other problem. 1st step: See an ophthalmologist for a complete eye exam. Good luck

ive had a flash in peripheral vision right eye for about 4 months, every day 1-3 times/day. eye dr said he doesnt see anything. what else could it be?

Flash of light: Seizure? Cholesterol emboli that moves on? blood clot from heart or artery in next that is small and moves on. Any Hx of trauma to eye? If persists go back to Eye Dr. Let us know what they find.

could monovision narrow peripheral vision. i use right eye for distance.

No: Monovision primarily affects the central vision.  The contacts do not alter the peripheral perception in either eye so narrowing, if it is actually occurring, might be due to something that needs investigation.  In that case see your ophthalmologist.

i've had lights in my left peripheral vision for about a year. lately, i've been having them in my right eye, too. an optician told me a few weeks ago my retinas/optic nerves are fine. what could be causing this? recently dx with gallbladder sludge?

It's unlikely that this is related to your gallbladder.  You should see an eye doctor (ophthalmologist) to confirm that your eyes are okay.

i have decrease peripheral vision and a multi-colored fracture line in my right eye. much like a broken camera lens. what could a cause be?

Migraine possibility: A cracked glass appearing peripheral visual disturbance that typically shimmers, builds then disappears, is likely a visual aura of migraine. It may be accompanied by a headache, nausea, or even vomiting. Often after it resolves, you feel back to normal. I do recommend that you have your eyes examined to just reassure that it is not from a different problem, like a torn retina.

Peripheral vision: Auras are visual manifestations of neurological symptoms. Flashing lights are one type of aura people report seeing, and these auras often appear in either eye. Migraines are a common cause of visual disturbances, such as flashing lights, but these uncomfortable visual symptoms can be the result of other physiological conditions as well. Anxiety, retinal disease, htn, and seizures may be an issue.

See eye doc: Although light flashes may be associated with migraines, these can also be associated with retinal problems such as vitreous and retinal detachments, and is not a normal phenomenon.  So, could be very benign, but don't take risk, get checked and likely reassured.

i have bright flashes occurring in the peripheral vision of my left eye when i am in the dark. what does it mean?

See ophthalmologist : this could be beginnings of a detached retina...or simply nothing serious. Need eye doc to fully exam your eyes to determine exact dx. I personally had similar problem this past year. Fortunately, it was not a retinal tare. However, a friend of mine had the real deal and needed laser repair of his retina...he's doing fine.

Flashing: Seeing Flashing lights: due to either traction of the vitreous gel in the eye on the retina (which is an extension of the brain &amp; makes the brain sense flashes); if you have new floaters or "see" a curtain coming over your vision, see eyeMD asap. Ophthalmic migraines are visual symptoms (like seeing flashing lights) without a headache. See your eyeMD to be sure it is not a new retinal hole/tear.
