Rib pain: For you age - lung cancer would be rare.
Chest muscle spasm could give you the fleeting pain. If you strain your chest muscles you can have similar pains. A chest x-ray and evaluation with your doctor is advised.

Non-specific: Fleeting chest pains are not specific for lung cancer. It could be caused by a host of other benign reasons like muscle pain, rib pain from strain or inflammation. Pneumonia or pleurisy can also cause it. If you are worried about lung cancer and you are a smoker, check with your doctor about a screening CAT scan of the chest. If it is negative, time to stop smoking!

Possibly: If ribs had to be taken to remove part of a lung, there could be deformity of the chest wall. Usally, though the chest wall doesn't look "caved in".

Eventually/not now: Smoking anything like weed or cigarettes throws a bunch of irritants into the sensitive lung tissue and over a a couple decades this may trigger cancer. Any pain you have at your age is likely infection or inflammation from something else.

Your question has: Conflicting info. Lung ca, 'slow kind', is broncheoalveolar, a non-invasive surface spreading tumor.  If it invades, it's not slow; if it goes to bones, for sure it's not slow. Prognosis requires clarification of provided info, multifocal bone scan + carries a poor prognosis.

Unlikely: Though it is possible for lung cancer to cause pain in the wall of the chest, this usually happens when tumors are larger.   The nodules you have will need followed with additional ct scans or biopsied/removed depending on size and your risk for lung cancer.   However,  it's unlikely for small nodules to be the cause of your pain.   Check with your pcp or see a lung doc about the nodules.
