Topical retinoids: Topical retinoid products are considered category "c" , or relatively safe during pregnancy while the pills are considered dangerous. You might drop the gloss out of caution but i consider the prior use as unlikely to have produced any problem.

There are tons of: acne treatment out there, and each doctor has their preference. Patients also have their own stories and favorites.  So there isn't any best treatment.  If you used antibiotics like doxycycline before, then you will stick with that.  If people use ProActive, or benzoyl peroxide, or retinoic acid before and it worked, then that's the best treatment.

Acne: Typical treatment for acne is oral antibiotics like Minocin or Monodox and prescription topicals like epiduo or ziana. Hormonal is treated with spironolactone. Retin a (tretinoin) does help treat acne. See your local dermatologist.

Not safe: Retinyl Palmitate is class C for pregnancy and should not be used. The chemical can cause birth defects and liver toxicity. Try a pregnancy multivitamin instead that has only pregnancy safe ingredients.

Yes: Excessive Vit A may lead to toxicity  daily requirements for adult is about 900 M gms per day speak to your doctor If you are thirsty you drink enough to quench your thirst , but you don't drown , same scenario , you need just enough but excess
