is resting heart rate and sleeping heart rate the same?

Not exactly: Your heart rate tends to fall lower, than resting, when you are sleeping.  You may also be prone to faster heart rates, during different stages of sleep or dreaming.  It's not unusual for someones, otherwise healthy, heart to go slower when you are asleep.

resting heart rate when sleeping is 100 and above. heart rate in the day with walking in the house is 125 and up. is this a cause for concern?

i'm 37 and my resting heart rate after waking up from sleep is 56-60 on pulse ox. is this normal? i'm not an athlete.

Yes: some people can have normal lower resting heart rate.  The problem is if you have symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, syncope along with these low heart rates.  Additionally, some medications can also decrease you are heart rate such as beta blockers.   If you asymptomatic then nothing to worry about.

athletes often have a very low resting heart rate in the 35-50 range but is this while sleeping? and does it even go lower during sleep?

Endurance: It could but it is completely normal for athletes of endurance sports

can supplementing w magnesium cause my heart rate to go too low? im a normal 21 yo make, no health problems but my resting heart rate is pretty low i guess bc decent health. its around 50 when laying in bed near sleep. would mag reduce it too far?

Magnesium: A heart rate of 50 in a healthy young patient resting in bed is quite normal. I doubt that ordinary doses of a magnesium supplement in a person with normal kidney function would reach toxic levels.

Yes: During sleep a slow heartbeat with rates around 40–50 bpm is common and is considered normal.

Bradycardia : If your resting heart rate is low already, it will not necessarily drop further.

Yes: A fit person may have resting heart rate in the 50s or 60s.

: be certain that the device you are using is accurate on you. Check rate at wrist pulse by feeling it and count for full minute. Get back if still high.
