?makes no sense: Dead tissue does not heal. Also it depends on the procedure done. It can b anything from revision of the nail on the ingrown side 2 removal of the nail ; nail bed; shortening of the distal phalanx ; suturing the plantar pad 2 the dorsal aspect of the toe.

Onchomycosis: The appearance of the toenails are likely caused by a fungal infection. This infection can be treated by removing the affted nails, applying a medicated polish or taking anti-fungal medication. It will take several months for the nails to respond to treatment and there is not a 100% cure rate. See your doctor to confirm the diagnosis and treat the infection.

Perhaps: The nail is too wide and digs into the skin. There is a procedure to make the nail less wide.

Lol!      sounds like you'll be fine but direct examination by either your pediatrician or a podiatrist will help answer your question with more certainty than i can since we are simply messaging each other.  At the very least sounds as if you've got a bruise on that toe but i'll betcha you'll be just fine.  Cheers!

Not usually: No, this could be an indication of another problem such as dehydration or autoimmune disease.  More information is needed to make a better diagnosis, but not typically associated with fungal infections like jock itch or toenail fungus.  I recommend you see your doctor for further evaluation.

2 seperate things: Your toenail probably has a fungus in it or you injured it and there is blood under the nail.
Your foot stiffness is probably arthritis.

See physician: A Podiatrist or Dermatlogist should be able to diagnose and treat a simple case. Sometimes a fungal culture or submiting a sample of affected skin may be needed. Is there any redness or itching, peeling present. This is often associated with fungus: especially if your feet sweat a lot or do not get enough air.
