Thyroid: Surgical removal of the thyroid gland is safe but there are other options for treatment of a high thyroid hormone level.
One is radio-active treatment of the thyroid and another is the drug methimazole.

Risk of surgery: Hyperthyroidism is typically treated with either anti-thyroid drugs, radioactive iodine, or surgery. Most people in the us receive radioactive iodine if thyroid medication is ineffective. Surgery carries a risk related to anesthesia, as with any other surgery. In addition, one typically becomes hypothyroid following surgery. Care must be taken to not damage parathyroid or nerves to the voice box.

Yes: Ashwagandha does nt=ot interact with most meds, can be more sedating if taken with sedatives, but should be fine with micardis-Drugs.com

Thyroid: You don't normally remove the thyroid if it is underactive, you replace it with thyroxine, not sure what is your thyroid problem, and what are your side effects, but you need to discuss them with your doctor. An endocrinologist will be best equipped to treat your condition.

Lump: A new lump in your neck with your history of lymph nodes and thyroidectomy needs you to go back to your doctor and/or surgeon as quickly as possible.

Thyroidectomy: If they did a complete thyroidectomy, your thyroid levels should be low; you should become hypothyroid and need to be on levothyroxine.  However, sometimes surgeons do not do a complete thyroidectomy, depending on why the surgery was done.  If they did a non-complete resection, but then the thyroid gland is not normal (eg. Hashimoto's), then you may get hypo even though there is tissue left behind
