Depends: Dry skin and redness is most often caused by lifestyle behaviors, such as frequent hand washing or exposure to harsh chemicals without proper moisturization. Some medical conditions, such as thyroid disorders or diabetes may increase your susceptibility to dryness. There is a protein called filaggrin that is altered in some people with eczema or a severe form of dry skin, called ichthyosis.

No: Red palms IS palmar erythema. Red hands is not. What you describe may be true palmar erythema, or it may not. It is never due to diversion of blood flow away from the hands. Besides advanced liver disease, it can be due to local factors on the hands, thyroid disease, eczema, psoriasis, blood disorder [increase in red cells], pregnancy or increased estrogen, etc. Avoid alcohol.

HUH???: Hyperhidrosis does not cause redness of the dorsum [top] of the hand. Exactly which topical antibiotic? Why? Topical antibiotic and latex allergy certainly can make hands red. Why Benadryl? Used mostly as a sleep aid, should not be used except at bedtime. Echinacea is a waste of money.

: MS may cause pins/needles/pain, but shouldn't cause swelling/redness of hands. Rheumatoid can cause your symptoms; carpal tunnel or ulnar nerve entrapment can partially explain your symptoms. How long have you had the symptoms? Raynaud's syndrome can cause your symptoms as well, but living in FL means less likely to have symptoms comparing to those living in colder regions. Consult doc.
