Common problem: Intestinal parasites, including worms, are surprisingly common. You can ask your Dr. to order stool tests for parasites though often labs don't find them even when there. Papaya seeds are an old folk remedy that has been proven effective for intestinal worms. You can try 2 tbsp of ground papaya seeds on the next 2 full moons and next new moon; that usually works. Colorful BMs: It is not abnormal for foods to change color of bms.  First time mothers can tell the story of the purple red bms their babies had from beets that they rushed them to the dr about. Dark black color or bms laced with dark black, see you dr asap as this may be blood indicating a more serious problem. Slight red could indicate hemorrhoid bleeding or local irritation. But see your dr to be sure.

2 m old red stool : Would follow up with  his pediatrician or pediatric gastorenerologist. May be having food allergies to  foods you are eating.

Hard poop = abnormal: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are vegetables, water, prune juice, prunes, fiber+water, miralax, (polyethylene glycol) senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, other laxatives... A doctor can evaluate and prescribe helpful meds too. Exercise also helps.

Stool color: stool color can vary for many reasons, including particular foods eaten, disease states, and medications. A change in stool color in the course of one stool is not unusual, and the only thing that concerns me somewhat about your description is that some of the stool was maroon in color. You should be sure that that is not from blood. if you're not sure, see your doctor to check.  Good luck.

Black stools: The black stools may be due to something you are eating or medication you are taking. However, you should make sure you are not passing blood in your stool so see your doctor

Bowel movement: It could be blood or it may be pigment from food/beverages or some un-digested food.
