Need eval: You should see your pcp and get further evaluation. There are many things causing itchiness on skin from dry skin, skin allergy, skin infection, drugs, diabetes, kidney disease, certain primary bone marrow problems etc. Get yourself checked.

Fades: Vomiting and retching cause straining which in turn can affect the facial skin vessels to dilate which results in redness. This should gradually fade as long there are no further episodes of retching and vomiting. If there is continued nausea, drink flat room temperature ginger ale which relieves nausea.

No : Birth control (estrogen containing) are usually helpful. A good skin regimen is key for acne and scars are but the blotchy uneven skin tone may need laser resurfacing with a dermatologist

Vessels: Pale skin is a bit more translucent than darker skin and you can view the venous pattern underneath.  This is normal and not a problem.

Athletes foot: Sounds like you have a fungal infection called Athletes foot. Try some over the counter athletes foot cream as directed. If it doesn't get better in a week or if you have diabetes then you should see a health care professional for evaluation. Could also be from too tight shoes. Wear sandals for a while instead.

Bug bite, infection: See your doctor if it doesn't resolve by tomorrow. An infection can spread into the actual orbital capsule of the eye. In the meantime, put a warm compress on the area of puffiness. Is it itchy, painful, or is there a discharge? These are things your doctor will need to know.

Healing Inflammation: The redness/purpleness of a healed abscess (skin infection) can take a few months to resolve.  The skin will remain firm, slightly tender and have a purple/red color for some time after the infection itself has healed. This is the scar tissue healing and settling.  If the area back tracks and get swollen, hot and tender again, you will need to see a doctor.  Hang in there.

i'm prone to senile purpura. lately every time i scratch myself it turns into a giant, red-purple splotch, often breaking the skin. i take citrus bioflavonoids. can a dermatologist help me even more to not be so vulnerable to the most minor scratch?
