Bruising?: Could be a bruise. Bruises are indications that there is bleeding underneath the skin or within the skin due to ruptured blood vessels. The dark color you are seeing is due to the color of blood and the iron that is in your red blood cells. Bruises are most commonly due to trauma, which could be from the suction of the pumper. Folliclitis: It may be hair follicle irritation or seborrheic dermatitis, looking at it might help to make a better comment.

Lip: Apply a cool compress (I like wet and frozen white tea bags because they also help with inflammation).  A dab of hydrocortisone will help with the redness and any itching.

See a dermatologist: Sometimes this is caused by prescription cortisone. Often it is treated with a calcineurin inhibitor such as pimecrolimus cream or tacrolimus ointment by prescription. This may clear it in a few hours.

: Benzoyl peroxide may be drying and could cause redness and irritation.  Is it possible that your moisturizer has added color or fragrance that is irritating your skin?  If the area above your lip really needs daily acne treatment, consider discussing options with a dermatologist.

: Can lipstick,lip balm or other cosmetics be to blame? Are you having nasal discharge or blowing/rubbing your nose excessively? If no to all these questions, I recommend consulting a dermatologist for evaluation &amp; advice.
