Gyn visit: Post menopausal bleeding should always be evaluated. In many cases there's nothing wrong but in some cases it could indicate a serious problem. An exam , ultrasound and possibly a endometrial biopsy should be done

Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding tends to suppress the menstrual cycle but this does not happen to everyone. It is very common to have some irregular menstrual bleeding when  breastfeeding. This is normal. Once breast-feeding is stopped the cycles tend to return to normal.  If you are wanting better control over bleeding see your Obgyn and discuss birth control options

Sexually active? If : Yes would take a pregnancy test. When pregnant vaginal discharge is thin, white ; milky. But because this is not a diagnostic symptom, a pregnancy test should be taken if you miss your period.

Brown discharge: May be older, deoxygenated blood. However if you develop discharge that has an odor, causes redness, swelling, itching or pain - please seek medical evaluation.

Brown = blood: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Probably ok: It's not unusual to get an occasional period that is different in character from your typical period.  Especially if you're on a hormonal contraceptive, or are under more stress than usual.

Not likely: If you took your pills regularly and did not miss any, it is unlikely that you ovulated after the active pills. Your upcoming period may be light or brown but if you are concerned, do a pregnancy test if you have been sexually active.

An infection?: It sounds as though you would really be much better off trying to get in to see a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment. I sounds like this has been going on for a while now. Also, it seems like you could benefit by talking to someone about your very awful experiences as a young child. I am sorry that has happened to you. Try and seek individual and group therapy for victims of sexual trauma.
