: Skin rashes after swimming in a pool can be of two types: Chlorine reaction or bacterial infection. Both typically go away with no intervention, typically in a week or so. Discomfort can be minimized with over the counter antihistamines or steroid creams. If the rash worsens or the child develops a fever, she should be seen in person at an urgent care.

Tinea Infection: Athlete's foot (aka foot fungus, aka tinea pedis) can present itself as a rash that is scaly and dry as well as a rash with bumps (raised blisters).  The itchy feeling is due to the irritation/inflammation from the fungus infection.  It is your body's way of responding.
