Hard to say/depends,: This disease is characterized by a rash in the nipple area that can result in flaky, scaly skin.  This and other symptoms tend to come and go, but if there is a rash in the nipple area that does not heal in over one month it would be a good idea to see a doctor for an exam with likely referral to a doctor who specializes in that field. Paget's: Possible. A picture and an exam is worth a thousand words. What other symptoms are you experiencing with the rash. Time to see your PCP.

Probably the prep: Most cyst aspirations are done with an antiseptic prep, usually betadine. If the rash is not raised, firm, or hot; you can probably just take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and see if it gets better. If you have any signs of infection (drainage, swelling, redness, pain) call your surgeon asap.  If the redness worsens, call also. Take care & good luck with your biopsy results.

Common problem: You may be very sensitive. I would suggest being very gentle to your skin as well as aggressive in its care. Put your milk onto your nipples to give it a coating for protection. In addition i would try a lanolin cream or ointment in between feedings, then wipe off gently before next feeding. Moisturize the surrounding skin for more soothing relief.

Breast rash: Breast rashes need to be examined by a physician.  Is it over the breast itself?  Over the nipple aerolar area? They can be from a typical dermatitis (irritation or rash) a infection (abscess) or a disease called paget's.  Paget's disease can be cancerous.  Please let your physician examine it.

Rash: Suspect this is an allergis reaction to the tape or dressing, but could be infection. See your doctor right away.

Yes but unlikely: Inflammatory breast cancer (or Paget's disease of the breast) can develop quickly, starting out in the ducts (as ductal carcinoma in situ, or DCIS) which generally forms calcifications or spots that are picked up on mammograms; however, mammograms are notorious for providing false negative (&amp;false positive) results. You need eval.: These lesions would need to be examined,  a history  obtained &amp; other tests may be necessary in order to diagnose them. Usually the lesions needs to be identified to determine the solution.
