There : There are many possible causes of back and leg pain including herniated disk pinching leg nerve, tightness in the spine (spinal stenosis) and broken back bone. JUICE AND BANANA : Is it a muscle cramps or joint pain? Depend where the pain was, was it in the calf or in joint knee or ankle.
Make sure you stay hydrated eat banana  and drink orange juice
take Motrin for the joint pain
if no improvement see your pcp.

Sometimes: If it is switching sides, more than one nerve is involved. Sometimes a very big central disc herniation can cause this. Consider getting an MRI if this is getting worse or not improving.

Maybe need more Gaba: Gabapentin is a good drug for nerve pain--but you are taking a pretty small dose.  I recommend a high enough dose during the day to relieve your pain, but not get sleepy.  At night, a higher dose can be used.  Gabapentin is a great sleep-inducer.  It enhances slow wave sleep.  Usual dose is 600-800 mg at night--but often need to go much higher.  You can take whatever dose is needed for sleep.
