Not bad at all : My patients do great and really like the procedure. I offer a version of it that is done in the office or it can be done under general anesthesia. It can be quite effective. Generally there is some mild oozing after and regular Tylenol (acetaminophen) is enough to cover the pain.

Depends how bad: The time and degree of recovery depend on the size and location of the hemorrhage. Bleeding and swelling go together.  The swelling follows the bleeding by a few days and takes several weeks to resolve.  For patients who are in good condition after a hemorrhage, it can take 12-18 months to make a maximum recovery.  They may or may not be normal again.

Not much: The number and amount of tissue removed with a biopsy on egd depends on the underlying pathology, but typically is very small.  Recovery is very quick and the risk of serious bleeding is minimal unless you take blood-thinning medication.

Alcohol: Drinking alcohol can aggravate and cause stomach ulcers which may bleed.

Rice: Rest, ice, elevate)ice 20 minutes three  x day.  If you have not been seen by md have evaluated to ensure no significant and serious injury !

Post tonsillectomy b: Bleeding after a tonsillectomy is quite common especially with the new techniques of using laser to control bleeding from the tonsillar bed.  If you are concerned then see the surgeon.

Pain: The pain you have could be from the abdominal wall or lower rib cage, and less likely the liver contusion itself. If the internal liver bleed were to expand or rupture, you're pain would be expected to increase. You must have seen a surgeon during the course of this problem, so call them with your symptoms. I you haven't seen a surgeon, call a general surgeon for an appt asap.

Fiber and water: You may use over the counter hemorrhoid remedies for the acute symptoms. You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. 
If the piles persist you may need surgical treatment.

hemorridectomy 9 weeks ago. cannot have a normal bowel movement. extreme pain and bleeding. is this still normal recovery?

Get checked..: It has been several weeks after and if you are having persistent bleeding and pain my recommendation is to call your doctor and have it checked. This might be a complication from the procedure which could include an infection among others.
