C7 Facet Fracture: Most single side facet fractures are stable and heal in two to three months. If you are developing pain in the triceps and back of forearm after 8 weeks, this is indicative of irritation to the C7 nerve root. An injury to the ligaments and possible disk disruption need to be evaluated. Check in with your treating physician, especially if weakness to arm extension is identified.

Varies: It varies quite a bit based upon the area of the C7 vertebrae that is involved.  But a general rule of thumb is it takes about 8 weeks to heal.  Most non displaced vertebral fractures will heal uneventfully and patients can return to full activities with no permanent sequela.  I would discuss your specific case with your doctor.

Facet fractures: Stable fractures of the cervical spine often heal in the first 3 months, and this is a reasonable time for immobilization. Once pain subsides, flexion/extension xrays will likely be taken to make sure no instability exists from ligament injury that would necessitate surgery despite bony healing. Posterior fusion surgery can be done safely/quickly in experienced hands with quick recovery.

Should be okay : In a 52 year old female with no other medical problems, should be okay to take off the brace now.  Your doctor's obviously obtained follow-up x-rays or ct scan which has confirmed a stable healed fracture. The longer you are in the brace so more stiffness and loss of mobility you'll likely have.  Just take it slow and focus on your bone health.

As described, OK: The injuries you describe should heal ok with the collar--and should be nearly resolved after 9 weeks. You should have a follow up visit with orthopedist / "spine surgeon" for imaging and clearance as resolved.

"quadraparesis": A complete injury would be unable to use legs, but able to use shoulders, bend  but not straighten elbows and have no or very limited hand movement.  They would have trouble with sitting balance and likely be incontinent. Sensation is lost below that a partial laceration could leave anything between this and full function even different losses on each side.

It is time to try: Keep head extended not flexed. Wean out of collar gradually.

Perspective: Compression fractures of the spine typically heal with time, often requiring bracing and less ofter, surgery. However, "healing" is relative. The loss of height will likely always be apparent. By "healed, " we typically mean that the bone integrity has been restored.
