what's the best way to take care of a recently pierced ear?

Clean and rotate : Keep the area clean with soap and water, you can use a dab of alcohol and/or peroxide to disinfect for a day or two.
Be sure to rotate the earring and keep it in place for at least a few weeks before removing it for prolonged periods.

recently got my ears pierced and it is itchy around the piercing. the skin is also flaking off. is this normal?

Allergic reaction: You may have an allergic reaction to the metal in the posts used for the piercing.  Most often this is due to nickle.  Change to a different type of ear ring. If you have any swelling or discharge, you should see your doctor for a possible infection.

i recently got my ears pierced. after having them in for two weeks my right ear was accidentally hit. now it is swollen and red. no discharge. ?

Inflammation/trauma: Take ibuprofen for now and see doctor if redness swelling doesn't subside in 2-3 days to rule out infection, which may require antibiotic. Good kuck

May be keloid: It may be a Keloid a reacting scar tissue or cyst  You have to see your doctor

Ear lump: The lump may just be a reaction to the pierced ear especially if infected.

Not normal: If you have tenderness, warmth are redness you should see a physician, it sounds like you might have an infection (swimmer's ear is an infection of the ear canal tissue). Areas that have been recently pierced and are not treated aseptically are prone to infection. Good luck!

Piercing Infection: See a doctor. This could represent art cartilage infection  (chondritis).  This requires traeatment with antibiotics.

i got my tragus pierced no more than 5 days ago. the first couple days were fine and recently my piercing has got really swollen. a little part of my face and under my ear is swollen. it also hurts to open my jaw all the way. is this normal?

No: I don't know for sure where this could be an infection. You need to see your physician, and make sure whether you need an antibiotic

Heal?: What do you mean, heal? Is it still infected after being pierced? If yes, you may need antibiotics. If you have had pierced ears for many years, the hole won't go away because skin has formed on the inside of the hole, just like your skin surface elsewhere, and it won't grow together again.
