Not necessarily: About 25% of early pregnancies result in spontaneous miscarriages. Therefore two miscarriages are not out of the ordinary. Do take the medication prescribed by your doctor to replace the hormone made naturally by the thyroid gland.

Call your doc: Would definitely recommend that you call 1 of the docs involved in your care and have a thorough physical, including labs.
While some of the symptoms you describe are common following I131, some others I do not recognize as side effects.
Electrolyte abnormalities are notorious in the recovery period.
Did you already start taking thyroid replacement pills?

Thyroidectomy: Hi. Thyroidectomy is usually done for thyroid cancer. Thyroid hormone has a long half-life in the blood, and if you are started on thyroid hormone replacement right away after surgery, you shouldn't feel bloated. However, we do see that sensation in some people, depending on the dose we start you on (it's just a hunch-we then adjust based on labs). The use of Thyrogen has made that all easier! GL!

Yes: Hi. The recurrent laryngeal nerves (RLN) run right by the thyroid on their way to the voice box. Sometimes a RLN has to be sacrificed doing thyroid cancer surgery; more often a surgeon with no business operating in that part of the body hits one (or both). Since you had a thyroidectomy, may I guess it was for cancer? Was the cancer outside the thyroid capsule? Good luck!

i had a hemi thyroidectomy in 2006 right side i recently had a ct of my neck for other reasons and the results came back with a heterogenous enlargement of myl left side. should i be concerned?

Thyroid enlargement: Heterogeneous means uniform enlargement of the thyroid. Usually we are more concerned when there is a specific nodule rather than increase in the entire lobe itself. Check with your dr. Who ordered the cat scan to be sure.

what is the cause of hoarseness of voice after thyroidectomy?

Shortly after ...: Hoarseness can occur from irritation caused by the endotracheal tube placed between you vocal cords into your wind pipe to breath for you while under anesthesia. Another less common cause is a weakness or paralysis of a vocal cord due to injury to a nerve that is used to close your vocal cords together for speaking, coughing and swallowing. This can be a temporary or permanent problem.See your ent.

Thyroid supplement: If you have had your thyroid removed you should be on replacement thyroid medication. You would then have normal thyroid function and not have muscle complications.

Yes: Must be on thyroid hormone replacement and make sure your on correct dose.

Significant: TSH elevation can be related to hypothyroidism and/or low circulating free thyroxine. I suggest a throid scan with uptake and/or an ultrasound of your thyroid.

what would cause the reading on a total thyroidectomy to  be in doubt when pathology has the entire specimen and still don't know if cancer or not?

More info needed,,,,: This is too vague to give a meaningful answer.  More information is needed.  For example, how is it in doubt?  What was the procedure done for/what type of cancer, etc.?  Were there tests done before the procedure and if so, what did they show?  This information makes a great deal of difference as to what could cause such a result.  Also see/discuss with your doctor.
