Low sperm: counts could be a reason for infertility, but if the sperm are otherwise normal, not for miscarriage once fertilization has successfully occurred.

Yes: Yes, hyper and hypo-thyroidism can be a cause of miscarriage.  Unlikely cause, but definitely within the realm of possibility.  The most common cause of 99% of all first trimester miscarriages is going to be chromosomal abnormalities, embryos that just aren't compatible with life.  If you have untreated thryoid disease, though, make sure you get it treated before having unprotected sex

Clomiphene: Clomid/clomiphene is succesful producing pregnancies in about 50-60% of women who take it; in other words, it doesn't always work - at all. For those who succeed, around 85% do so in 3 cycles. So it's quite possible you could try a few more cycles. It also depends on normal tubes and normal sperm: have you and your husband been tested for this?

Often unknown: I am very sorry for your loss. Most first trimester miscarriages go unexplained. Often genetic abnormalities are the cause. Schedule follow up with your doctor to discuss your situation.

Not always possible: Most early miscarriages are due to pregnancies that are chromosomal abnormal and miscarry for a reason. If you have 2 or more miscarriages your fertility specialist or obgyn can do a work up to look for preventable causes.

: The cause of miscarriages is often elusive but when the material is studied genetically it may have abnormal chromosome material. At some point the OBGYN may send you to a clinical geneticist for an evaluation of your risk of another.

Chromosomal: The most common reason for any miscarriage is a chromosomal problem.  Assuming this is the same father.  It's unlikely that you have a problem that has gone 'undetected' in your 3 prior normal pregnancies.  But 3 miscarriages in a row is traumatic and emotionally painful.  You and your husband/partner may want to see doctor just to get checked out.  I'm so sorry for your losses.

Mthfr genes: Heterozygous individuals pass the mutation to a child 50% of the time. If both parents carry mthfr genes, there is a 1:4 chance that a child will have both, and 1:4 chance of neither (normal).  Ask your OB to check your homocysteine level, and folate level, but most with heterozygosity do not need treatment.  Only homozygous or a child with both genes may have clotting disorders.

i  would like to ask you if total thyroidectomy is a reason for my two  miscarriages?

Not necessarily: About 25% of early pregnancies result in spontaneous miscarriages. Therefore two miscarriages are not out of the ordinary. Do take the medication prescribed by your doctor to replace the hormone made naturally by the thyroid gland.
