i miscarriaged at 9 weeks. my thyroid is 3.95, could my low tsh be the cause of my miscarriage? should i take thyroid medication to about carry a pregnancy to term?

: If your TSH is 3.95 at this time, in our laboratory it's normal( It's recommended that TSH should be no higher than2.5 when trying to get pregnant.. However during pregnancy your TSH should be between 2 &amp; 2.5 in 1st trimester,and between 0.3- 3. in 2nd &amp; 3rd.trimester according to the Endocrine Society. Get your obstetricians advice and/or consult an endocrinologist

No: In real life, that does not happen. Ejaculation has to happen into the vagina in order to create a new baby. That being said, life can surprise you sometimes. So, couples having sex should always be ready for that rare surprise baby.

im 5 weeks 5 days had a vaginal ultrasound today and was told my gestational sac was  low. can i still carry a healthy pregnancy? ive also had 2 other ultrasounds before this and neither doctor told me or thought it was low. will it be okay?

Cant predict : Before week six one should only see a gestational sac. A fetal pole is not visible until after week six. We can not make predictions based on a "low" gestational sac. That is not a typical word used to describe early pregnancy sonograms. You can ask the doctor who performed the sonogram and used that terminology for clarification. Most likely, they will schedule you for a repeat scan in 1-2 weeks.

2 weeks, 2 options: A home pregnancy test will reliably turn positive about 2 weeks after conception, around the same time you'll be missing your period.  There can still be false negatives at this time though, so a repeat 2 weeks later can be helpful.  A pregnancy can be aborted medically (using the mifepristone + misoprostol pill) or later on can be aborted with a surgical procedure through the vagina/cervix.

Chemical pregnancies: account for 50-75% of all miscarriages. They occur when pregnancies are lost  shortly after implantation, resulting in bleeding that occurs around the time of an expected period. Although aneuploidy, an abnormal number of fetal chromosomes, is the most common reason, many maternal conditions can be diagnosed, some of which are treatable. Evaluation by your OB-GYN is definitely warranted.

where exactly is endometrial linen,must a baby form on it ,can one carry pregnancy to term if the baby forms elsewhere other than the endometril linen?

See Below: The uterus is hollow,  The hollow space has a lining.  Doctors call it the endometrial lining.    The baby must form inside the uterus on the endometrial lining.  If the baby forms somewhere else such as the fallopian tube, it cannot be carried to term.  Best wishes!

Uncomfortable: Getting pregnant with a  herniated disc is very likely to make being pregnant very uncomfortable and unpleasant but does not affect ones ability to be pregnant.

can somebody with a luteal phase defect carry a pregnancy to term?

Accepted Answer

Yes.. But: Luteal phase defect (lpd) implies an inadequate amount of Progesterone (p4) after ovulation. P4 is a critical hormone for pregnancy and in theory if the level is low then you should miscarry. However, the diagnosis of lpd is controversial because p4 levels are tricky to measure accurately. Therefore many women with lpd deliver the baby because they do not really have lpd. Best wishes.
