See doctor: New onset of persistent headache should be investigated. Without neurological signs, a brain tumor is not likely. Occipital neuralgia is a possibility.

Analgesics?: Your headache could well be referred from neck, and you could have arthritic issues in the spine, but there are several other problems to consider, so you need an exam and a diagnosis.  Hard to tell you what meds to use, as different conditions are treated based on cause.  Might try localized warmth on neck, and might find benefit in supine position.  Regardless, enlist the help of your doctor.

Yes: The most common cause of pain in the back of the head is muscle tension.  In the absence of any neurological signs such as dimming of vision, numbness or tingling or weakness of extremities, you can lie on your back and head.  if symptoms are not relieved with medications, see your doctor.

Migraine?: Need to have this evaluated, and perhaps get mri, as causes might include migraine, but also could be due to problems inside the cranium, such as increased intracranial pressure.  Get an exam by your pcp, and decide further steps.  There are medications available to stop and prevent headaches, but first confirm causation.  Some medications can trigger headaches, so review these also.

See doctor: This may be a migraine attack but if this occurs for the first time at your age, you need to consult your doctor or a neurologist to make sure that there is nothing more serious .

See your doctor: Severe headaches should be evaluated by your doctor. There are a variety of possible causes- some may be mild, some may be serious. There is no way to know without an evaluation.

My first question: would be "how on earth did you hit four head on the corner of the bathroom sink?" Did you pass out ?  Bend over to inspect the contents of the commode ? Have a seizure ? Apparently there was enough force involved as to cause a whiplash injury (or someone clubbed you from behind).  If you don't get better in a few hours or if you don't know how you hit your head see a doctor ! Makes sense?

Need appt. asap: You need to go the emergency dept as you may have a concussion and or even a more serious slow bleed or sub dural hematoma (sdh) . Do not fall asleep and get this evaluated asap.  Best wishes.

: Although in absence of more information, it is tough to be precise, I would gather most likely, that you suffered a concussion and a scalp hematoma over the posterior skull.  Post-traumatic headaches are common.  Would contact your doctor if headaches worsen, nausea and vomiting, blurred or double vision, dizziness or gait imbalance, or periods of loss of consciousness.
