i have prickly/itching skin for 3 weeks on back, thighs and arms. comes and goes throughout day. (kind of feels like youve been exposed to insulation.) no rash. does not interfere with sleeping. claritin does not seem to help it. any suggestions?

: chck to see clothing you moight be allergic to or if you have changed detergent or soap. Use a mild skin lotion. If not better pl. see your MD

I kno some: Vasomotor causes as a reaction to stress embarasment. Sun can cause them in some on certain drugs. Also some have a disease called pyphoria. )not sure of the sp). Some mild, some cases are serious.

You : You can see a small fine red rash after a MMR vaccine but the rash you describe has occurred too long after receiving the vaccine.  No need to fear the MMR vaccine.  The rash you describe sounds like hives.  The next time it happens, take a picture of it to show your pediatrician. Phone cameras are great for documenting short lived rashes like this since odds are your child may not have it at the time of the doctor visit.

Yes: In fact this may be the first sign of eczema. I would suspect food allergy in this case.

See urologist soon: Obviously cannot be very serious, since it comes and goes. But it is important to be seen (preferably by urologist) to rule out intermittent torsion or hernia or even prostate disorder.

Have you: Have you seen a dermatologist to get it evaluated? This way you can find out. You may need a skin biopsy.

Yes: It is likely that you have a new onset allergy to penicillin.   Stop the Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) and contact the prescriber.  At some point in the future you can see an allergist to get skin tested to confirm.

Rash: Rashes are impossible to diagnose over the computer.  Usually sitting is not a risk factor for developing a rash, unless you are very old (It states you are 106?), and you get skin "breakdown" from not moving around (similar to a "bed sore").  When the rash is visible, have a dr. look at it to give you a diagnosis and any necessary treatment.  Best wishes.

Dilating Vessels.: This does not sound like a rash to me. More like a idiopathic, transient vasodilation of capillary blood vessels. Why not take a few snaps of the incidences and show then to you doctor. This would help almost as well as seeing the condition actually happening.
