How long?: I would guess that this is more likely from rosacea which is worsened by increased in body heat and alcohol. However this may also be the first sign of lupus.   If the problem is persistent, see your doctor.

Anti histamine: don't do it ever again. you obviously has to go to see your MD to get checked as soon as possible.. meanwhile, take anti-histamine-like benadryl, (diphenhydramine) and loratadine,zetiridine or fexofenadine OTC etc.

Many possibilites: There are many types and causes of skin rashes.  Several types of inflammatory conditions of the skin, allergic reactions, and sometimes bacterial, viral or fungal infections can cause rashes on the skin. Insect bites can also be the cause of a rash on the skin.  Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

Irritant: A contact allergy usually itches but an irritant one (including sunburn) would cause burning. I suspect that you are using something irritating (acne products?) on the face leading to the burning. Allergy to petrolatum is rare.

Possible triggers ?: Localized itching with rash suggests something came in contact with that area to trigger the event. It would be within the last 18-24 hours. It my be a cream, lotion, perfume, soap or other such material. If you have such an item you can test it by applying it to the pad of a band-aid &amp; apply it to a normal area of skin. Within a day if the area under the pad breaks out you have your cause.

Too many meds?: I'm always concerned by the idea of 'several' medications. In some cases it is necessary, but far too many are prescribed. Discuss ways to reduce them responsibly w/ Doc. Also consider adding psychotherapy to optimize benefits and learn better ways to live. Best!

Vasodilation: A red facial eruption with a burning sensation,especially if it's transient, suggests a vasodilation  of capillaries such occurs with hormonal reactions, warm temperature response, exposure to Sun and wind,anxiety or embarrassed states, ingestion of spices,alcohol,etc. Another possibility,if the eruption is not transient, is acne rosacea which is aggravated by many of the same factors.See dermatol
