Sensory neuropathies: or dysfunction of peripheral nerves, are caused by many things including hereditary diseases, trauma, toxins (alcohol), infections, diabetes, B12 deficiency, medications and autoimmune diseases (MS). Pin prick/tingling sensations generally indicate involvement of small-fiber sensory nerves.These symptoms require a careful work-up with detailed history, physical and testing. ive just been told i need repeat bone profile bloods in 2mths as my adjusted calcium was a bit low 2.18? what could cause this? fbc ue lft iron b12 all normal. i get tingling sensation all over body randomly sometimes and frequent headaches. thanks?

: Normal calcium is 2.5 mmol/L (10 mg/dl) so your calcium level is slightly low; however, to my experience that level is not low enough to have the symptoms of hypocalcemia. So your symptoms, tingling sensation and headache, likely have nothing to do with the current calcium level.

experiencing tingling sensations in random parts of my body. body also shakes at times. i am loosing sleep because of this. this happens when i am trying to sleep. i am good during the day. this started after i had a dental abscess. what can this be?

Tingling,shakes bedt: Restless leg syndrome is a possibility. Anxiety can cause similar symptoms but often palpitations and some sweating also occur. I doubt Parkinson's disease or electrolyte&amp;mineral deficiencies as you don't have daytime symptoms. A neurologist would be best to consult for evaluation and advice. Appropriate testing will be done.

i think im suffering from anxiety?i started having multiple muscular pains(esp in lowerback and neck)which start randomly then go away & tingling sensations in body(hands/feet/neck/back)which is rare too,go away on its own.is this anxiety?no b12 def?

: You could have a vitamin B12 level done to make sure you don’t have vitamin B12 deficiency. You could also take a multivitamin which would have plenty of vitamin B12 in it and see if this makes your symptoms go away. If your symptoms don’t resolve, then definitely have a level drawn since sometimes vitamin B12 is not absorbed properly from the diet or multivitamin. Feel better soon!! Good luck!

Tingling: Generally this is caused when a nerve is irritated or not functioning correctly.  So, you can develop tingling if you interrupt circulation, or compress a nerve, or if the chemical balances are interrupted - sometimes tingling occurs with hyperventilation (breathing to fast) because acid base balance changes your chemistry.

Unique complaint: Assuming that you have this complaint for months without any pain or other symptoms, this appears unique and very hard to explain. If there is associated pain in several parts of body then it could be harbinger of fibromyalgia.

Tingling': ALL OVER  suggests a number of issues including ANXIETY (actually the most common cause = hyperventilation) but metabolic reasons such as a LOW CALCIUM should be "ruled out" An "in person" visit is 
necessary!

Tingling: Tingling sensation all over the body can happen for many different reasons: stress, anxiety, low blood sugar, medication side effects... The list goes on and on.  When you see your doctor, they'll do an examination, ask you some questions and probably get some basic blood tests checking your thyroid, for anemia, sugar and electrolytes.  Best of luck!

More info needed: More information is needed.  Tingling may be associated with fabrics touching your skin.  If you have any fevers associated or nausea or other finding, this would be helpful information.   Also if you are on any medications including special soaps.  I would be curious to know if your tingling is worse during showers?  Collect your symptoms on paper and present this information to your doctor.
