Tiny: Technically yes, but no from a practical point of view. Once fully healed it is unlikely to be identifiable

Scar lightening: I wouldn't think a chemical peel would help much.  I would recommend Mederma (otc) first and then if it is still dark use an otc skin bleach.

Breast revision: A revision denotes that previous surgery has already been done, so most of the time the incisions will "follow" the previous incisions that are present-depending what was done and what is proposed. All surgery involves incisions (which essentially is what a scar is)...We just try to minimize them and create the most favorable appearance that is technically possible. A lot has to do with healing.

Scar Revision: Painful scars at a year of age might best be managed by revision particularly if they are wide as long as they are not true keloids.

Permanent but…: Breast reduction surgery is one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform. These operations are associated with scarring that is permanent; however, the scars  are rarely “awful”. However, patients undergoing this operation should be aware that poor scarring may result and additional therapy and/or surgery may be necessary to improve the appearance of these scars. Different techniques: There are many different techniques which are popularly known as the crescent, donut, lollipop and anchor in order of increasing scarring. The appearance of the scars is the result of the technique used, the surgeon's skills and the individual's response to the injury and natural healing tendencies. Each of these 3 factors can play a major role in the result and noticeability of the scars. See fig.

Breast Scars: With every surgery there will be scars. Early on, your scars will be red, raised, and "angry". This acute phase of wound healing lasts anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. After this acute phase has ended, your scar will enter the "mature" phase, where the red, raised scar softens and pales, becoming difficult to see. Scars are also placed in inconspicuous areas whenever possible.

is there anything i can do to fade the scars after a breast reduction?

Many things.: Scars evolve from angry red, to raised, to flat and hypo-pigmented over about a year for most patients--depending on their heritage and the surgery performed.  Use otc Mederma gel 4x/day starting after you are fully healed; get silicone gels or bandages to put on the scar; consider certain laser treatments and even injections of 5-fu or steroids if you get keloids. Just depends...See your/a doc!
