If you are a veteran many veteran hospitals and clinics have hypnosis programs.

Smoking cessation...: There are many different smoking cessation methods, all with variable success. One key component is to replace the smoking habit with another habit-decide ahead of time what you are going to do when you feel like smoking, besides smoking. Then, pick a quit date and let those around you know so they will support you. Any method will then have a higher success rate-pick one you can commit to.

Highly variable: depending on how much you smoked, what kind of cigarettes, how deeply you inhaled, how long you have smoked. Usually, irritability, lack of concentration, craving ("nicotine fits") and sleep disturbance. I strongly recommend using nicotine replacement (patches, lozenges, gum) rather than cold turkey, which has the lowest quit rate of all methods. Join a cessation program at least. Good luck!!!

ive noticed over the last 5-6 days ive been shedding a little more than normal. its not coming out in clumps or handfuls, but its just more than i feel like it usually is. recently quit smoking as well as trying to change my diet. ?

Hair: Could be related to the smoking. One common indication is thyroid problems to cause alopecia.

Chantix : Discuss this with your family doc.  Chantix is one approach which has helped many people stop tobacco, but not your only option. I applaud your efforts and while you still need to have that dr. Visit, try cutting down just 1 cigarette daily. You will be weaned within 3 weeks.

It is a free telephone counseling service, and is excellent. They can help develop a quit plan just for you, and support you along the way. And they often can give away aids like nicotine patches for free. Best of luck! you really can quit. I know. I did.
