Happy or sad baby: I look at spitters as either happy or sad.The happy ones spit up but are willing to eat soon after.These have normal reflux which peaks around 4 mo and fades as they age. They grow and otherwise thrive.These can be left alone to grow.The sad spitters are sick, don't want to eat and likely have a medical problem.These need to be evaluated and treated.

See his Dr.: There are a number of possible causes for belly pain while eating.  Having a pyloromyotomy for pyloric stenosis when he was a baby is probably not related.  Please have his Dr. evaluate him to determine the cause.

Give it some time: Diarrhea after abdominal surgery can be normal.  It may take a few more days for the stools to come back to their previous consistency.  Definitely have your infant re-evaluated if the stools are frequent or vomiting occurs.  If this does not resolve in a few days then call the surgeon or the infant's primary care physician.

Major point - please vbac in a hospital where your OB can keep you safe and have access to immediate surgery if needed.
