my nail beds have been turning purple recently, now my thumb nail beds are so purple they're nearly black. my hands don't feel cold - what is this?

Possibly related to: Spasms of the blood vessels of the nailbed, so called Raynaud's phenomenon. Cold sometimes is a trigger. But emotional stress can set it off too.  Exposures to many different things can.  In some cases this can be related to associated autoimmune disease like lupus, or other disease processes.  Your best bet is to be evaluated by a doctor in person, to make sure nothing more concerning is going on

Blood : Ubroke a small vessel in ur contusion (bruise)...It goes from black/blue/purple to yellowish to normal.

Thumb injury: Go to the emergency room to have it checked. An xray can check to see if there is a fracture. They can puncture the top of the nail and relieve the pressure from the blood under the nail.

Get checked: I assume this spot is not a bruise from a known incident. Spontaneous and unusual markings on the skin should be examined, preferably by a dermatologist.

Nail melanoma: Discoloration of the nail can be benign melanonychia, or represent a melanoma skin cancer. 
Hutchinson's sign represents discoloration onto the soft tissue at the proximal nail fold. If the color "bleeds" onto the skin, this can represent a melanoma.
If it is not there is does mean it is not a melanoma however. Always best to  have it evaluated.

my thumb pad turns purple and my wrist becomes painful when i put pressure on it. nothing appears in imaging tests. does anyone know what this is?

Hematoma: could be hematoma.from trauma. the trauma could be trivial that you dont remember. like twisting the thumb for example

Can be: This injury may still be somewhat tender after two weeks. Some superficial nerve injury causing tingling takes even longer to heal. If there's persistent significant pain or tenderness or if there's swelling and increasing redness, a physician should evaluate your thumb.

The commonest in a female your age would be raynauds syndrome. Please see your doctor for specific diagnosis and management.
