my skin is extremely itchy and hot, and tiny bumps and red/purple/black blotchy bruises appeare after it stops itching. what could it be? please help?

Need eval: You should see your pcp and get further evaluation. There are many things causing itchiness on skin from dry skin, skin allergy, skin infection, drugs, diabetes, kidney disease, certain primary bone marrow problems etc. Get yourself checked.

: It is not normal to have blotchy skin or to have your feet and toes turn purple when you sit. Please see a physician for an exam and discuss all of your other symptoms with them.

Possibly: You may have an autoimmune  vasculitis, cold agglutinins or livedo reticularis... Lupus, among other autoimmune disorders affect dermal blood flow creating mismatch during changes in temperature.  A rheumatology expert or dermatologist may clarify your issue.

i have been struggling with my skin. my neck. my jawline. all around my head and neck area. hair seems to be growing in bunches and i am getting almost a light purple blotchy ness to the underline of my jaw on each side below my ear?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What you described suggests hormonal imbalance.  It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably an endocrinologist.

Heating pad: Red and blotchy skin patterns in back of person with chronic low back pain likely due to chronic heating pad exposure.  They should be of no consequence.

Vasodilation: Warm/Hot water causes superficial vasodilation which can make veins/capillaries very obvious and give the skin a mottled purple appearance. This is normal and will go away after the skin cools down. Consider taking less hot showers and spending less time in the shower. Drinking copious amounts of water also seems to help (2.5 liters daily for women)

The purplish/reddish: color suggests this has something to do with the vascular or blood vessel system.  An inflammation of blood vessels called vasculitis could account for these symptoms. I would start with your primary care physician and possibly see a vascular medicine specialist. Specialzed tests and exams will likely be needed to sort this out.  All the best:)

Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

Purple blotches: Purple blotches on the skin arise from capillaries (small blood vessels) in the skin. They may be more noticeable under certain conditions (temp, exercise, alcohol). Depending on the type/degree of involvement lasers may be helpful in reducing their appearance. If they are associated with other symptoms or change in their appearance, it would be advisable to have an exam. Hope this helps!
