3 months ago i got a blister on my pinky toe, hiking. now it is purple & hurts terribly if bumped. is it really a blister and how should i treat it?

i have this spot on my toe. i thought it was a mosquitto bc it itched bad w no color. now its dark red almost purple. not a blister. above nail bed.

Does your dog bite ?: It still could be a bite of some sort. You are seeing a localized inflammatory reaction to a foreign protein possibly being introduced to your toe. There is dilation of the blood vessels and possible sub-dermal bleeding. Warm compresses may speed the resolution of the condition. If there is no improvement soon then it would be best to see your doctor.

i walked about 5mi a day (brisk walking) for a few weeks but noticed my second toe on left foot hurting. i've stopped walking but now there's a large blood blister callous and the nail is slightly purple. no pain. is that ok or should i get an eval?

Healing: During the healing phase the skin can have a discolored appearance. Once a blister has drained and de-roofed it typically is a matter of days before complete healing occurs.  If you are concerned at all you should be seen in person or virtually for proper diagnosis and correct treatment.

Have checked,: Especially if it continues to stay a purplish color. This could be a number of things, from simple skin irritation to an infection to vascular issues. Did it get excessively cold at any time, frostbite? Just be sure as necrosis can set in quickly. Sorry i cannot help more without seeing it, but my safest recommendation would be to have it looked at.
