Viagra (sildenafil): Viagra (sildenafil) can cause low blood pressure. That is why we don't give it with the drug family of nitroglycerine. If your blood pressure doesn't rise with sexual activity or if you just take viagra (sildenafil) and it lowers your BP while your heart is slow and it doesn't speed up, you could pass out.

: Yes, 80 is considered normal and it is expected to immediately rise with activity.  However, given these numbers, it might suggest that your body tends to be overall deconditioned or that you might be hypotensive forcing the pulse to rise more than 10 beats per minute.  You might consider checking your blood pressure while seated and immediately after standing to see how that is also impacted.

i have had my heart thoroughly checked by cardiologist recently. lately my sitting down resting pulse rate is about 80 beats per minute. when i stand it goes up to 100 to 105 and only settles to 90 to 95 when just standing still. what could be causes?

: Difficult to speculate what the cause might be. Dehydration could be one possibility. Others include medications if any, low grade anxiety etc. The  best advice is for you be examined and further tests be done if indicated. Good luck.

: A high resting pulse usually reflects an identifiable underlying cause and merits a visit to one's Dr or to a cardiologist for a careful exam and appropriate testing.  Common causes include infections, hyperthyroidism or immediate post-exercise.  However, rarer causes might require special tests including blood tests, a urinalysis, chest X-rays and an echocardiogram.

Uncommon to: have those numbers in age 70. If you were 23, then it would be entirely wonderful. If there aren't sytpoms of lightheadedness, it's hard to worry about it as having a low pulse that goes up with exercise is a sign of good cardiac reserve. Meds or dehydratoin can change pulse upward. meds often lower the baseline pulse.

my pulse rate in the evening runs 58-64 per min.   in morning, pulse runs 48-54 per minute..i do run 6 day's a week in the fl heat is this normal?

For you, may be ok: Very athletic and healthy people can have a lower resting heart rate.  The Professional bike rider, Lance Armstrong in his prime, had a resting heart rate in the 40's.  As long as you have no symptoms, you stay fit and in good shape, you should be fine. If you get any symptoms of fatigue, lethargy, tiredness, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, etc. than you need to se the Dr. Good luck.

follow up question. after i take my adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) my bp is low 110/55, pulse rate peak of adderall, (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) 60-68 per minute. is this due to my running every day?

Probably: If you have been running for a long time then you might have what is called "runner's heart", that is a variant of normal.  If the rest of your health is good and you have passed a complete physical exam, then keep up the good work.

Low hr: If your in good physical shape you can have a low heart rate . Might be worth getting an ekg to make sure it's nothing else.
