after an ear infection and burst ear drum 4 weeks ago i have constant head aches. i also have noises from my ear like severe tinitis. it feels like throbbing and i hear what i imagine is blood flow all the time. there is no more pain?

May need recheck: When an eardrum bursts there is usually marked relief of pain, &amp; sometimes a discharge of liquid is noted. Most of the time the eardrum heals within a few weeks. The auditory nerve (that has to do with hearing) could possibly be damaged when there’s a hole in the protective eardrum, &amp; that might cause some of your symptoms.  I recommend calling your doctor who may want to re-examine the eardrum

VERY COMMON: Since the heart lies on the left side of the body its "sounds" are easily TRANSMITTED to the left ear ESPECIALLY when you lie on that side!

Ceruminosis: You need to have your ears checked for excessive wax accumulation and treated accordingly. The throbbing in the ear# is normal unless there’s pain. Your doctor should be able to assist with a prescription for Waxsol or Cerumol ear drops if there’s wax

i'm experiencing sporadic pulsating above my ear when i lay down at night. it occurs on whatever side i'm laying on. what could this be?

Hearing artery: Adjacent to the ear are the temporal and carotid arteries.  When the ear is down it blocks sound from entering it making it easier to hear or feel the blood running through these vessels.  No major worry if it remains sporadic. Be concerned if you hear it continuously or just in one ear, or if you have other ear symptoms.  In that case see ent.

why does the right side of my neck just below the ear feels weird?it feels  kind of tense and pulsating and it hurts a bit when i touch there.

Neck pain: Below the ear there are multiple anatomical fixtures: lymph nodes, vessels etc. The most common if you have recently been ill or have had an ear infection etc. could be lymph nodes that are inflamed. They can pulse based on the vessels there. Other possibilities includes an inflammation of the veins or phlebitis You should see your doctor as its hard to make a judgement.

You may need ENT exa: It is unlikely to be anything serious. it sounds like Tinitis. But you will need an ear examination from an ENT specialist if it persists beyond 2 weeks.

Pulsatile tinnitus: Pulsatile tinnitus is a tinnitus where you hear rhythmical noises that beat at the same rate as your heart. If you check your pulse while listening to the pulsatile tinnitus, you will notice that they beat at the same rate.

Muscle strain: You most likely have muscle strain (trapezius?). Applying local heat will help. Meanwhile, an NSAID like naproxen if safe for you, can give pain relief, and less so with acetaminophen. Hope that helps
