stand up and neck start pulsate super strong, do the carotid arteries expand or narrow? took bp and was normal, shouldnt it be high?

Pulsate: With blood flow and pressure, the artery walls will expand with each heart beat, then relax and deflate a bit, and the cycle continues with each heart beat.  When you stand up, people can sometimes get a low blood pressure, due to the positional change, and the heart may try to compensate by increasing its heart rate, and therefore, this may be more noticeable in your neck.

when doing doppler of carotid arteries, do u see the arteries up to the level of the cheekbones? can u c everything that u can pulsate with ur hand?

Not normally: A carotid duplex scan or ultrasound normally examines the carotid arteries from just above the collarbone to the angle of the jaw below the ears.  The carotid artery does travel by the cheekbone if by that you mean the maxilla.

It can be.: If you are able to see your carotid artery pulse in your neck, you're likely quite thin. Rarely a prominent, pulsatile carotid artery in the neck is a sign of a carotid artery aneurysm, an abnormal englargement of the artery which can lead to problems such as stroke or rupture/bleeding. This would be rare in a 43 year old without a history of trauma. See a vascular surgeon to be sure.

Get Carotid U/S: At 62 you are at an age when carotids get narrowed.  Are you on a statin drug? Statins are thought to delay carotid disease. If your carotid is 100% blocked little can be done, but if it is less than 90% blocked, Surgery is relatively low risk with experienced surgeons, and clot can be removed. Recommend a Carotid Duplex at the hospital or a good Radiological practice.

She might have: hypertension, or some other cardiovascular problem.  She should see a doctor.

Ear pulsing: A carotid lesion with transmission of flow feeling to the ears is possible so a carotid echo is reasonable. The symptom is not specific and lots of things could be related.

Yes: Stress can mimic anything and may cause any symptoms.TrBIOFEEDBACK:  Avoid drugs for sleep, weight loss, nervousness, anxiety and wait gain. Usually try behavior modification, punctuality in sleeping, read a book and warm milk if u like. Avoid caffeine, drinking, TV in room. Do regular exercise and get busy with ur studies or work. Don’t dx yourself.

You are afraid: You may have good reason or not, but i think your doctors can help you understand your conditions or lack of disease better. Ask them for information that is clear to you and also for a referral to a therapist to help you manage your disease anxiety. Understanding = help. If possible, avoid meds that will have side effects as they may just add to your worries. Best wishes.
