Did you pull a muscl: doing some unusual exercise or activity before this started?  If so, it is probably safe to apply heat and wait it out.  However, if you did nothing unusual and you have pain on deep breathing it could be something more serious like a collapsed lung or blood clot and you should be seen.  Good luck!

Myofascial Pain: Sounds like you have a myofascial nodule (muscle knot) of the rhomboid muscle. This is a common yet painful location for a myofascial nodule. I'll bet your sleep is poor. These knots respond to quality sleep and deep friction massage. A pm&r specialist is your best bet at getting proper treatment if your family doc is stumped.

Not normal: to have chest pain.  It could be a serious condition such as angina, aortic dissection, or pulmonary embolism.  You should be seen by a doctor for specific diagnosis and proper treatment.

You : You cannot. If yo have a pinched nerve from a disc herniation you may have weakness to your legs or may experience numbness, tingling or abnormal sensations to the legs. That would not be seen with a "pulled muscle".

Tincture of time: A pulled muscle is the presence of "micro-tears" among some of the fibers within that muscle.  They cause a certain amount of swelling, which causes the pain.  Depending on the severity of the injury and the age and medical status of the patient, these symptoms can last from a few days to a few weeks.  Allow it to heal rather than continue to injure it with more activation of the muscle.

: It would be too low for a kidney stone and is more likely related to the musculoskeletal system as it gets worse with movement. Treat symptomatically with rest, moist heat or cold packs and Tylenol or Ibuprofen. If the pain is not resolving or gets worse, follow up with your family physician.
