It depends.: It is possible, but it may also be a baker's cyst, which can indicate that there is something structurally wrong within your knee.

the back of my left leg, knee area is sore. i have a desk job, i don't do strenuous physical activity to warrant pulled muscle. what's the deal?

Could be a number of: Possibilities; 1) muscle strain which can occur even in a sedentary person, after low level activities like climbing stairs, or a rapid walk, or running after a child, etc; 2) could have bumped the back of the leg/knee into something; 3) could be leg clot, which can occur in a sedentary person.
Is there swelling, tenderness or breathing problems/chest pain...... See your pcp the last possibility.

husband 7 wks post op fem-pop bypass. lost balance and fell. now complaining of pain behind his knee in that leg. i googled it (stupid). is it likely a pulled muscle/sprain or do we need to worry about a clot? i wrapped it and he has been icing?

: It could be a contusion and/or a sprain, but a blood clot so soon doesn't sound likely. I think he should be examined ASAP by the vascular surgeon in any event. In the meantime I agree with the use of icing and elevation of the leg.

See a doctor: Persistent pain after a trauma such as falling off a ladder needs to be evaluated by a physician. Pain behind the knee after a fall could be a torn meniscus.

after walking again recently after leg being immobilized for seven weeks, bent my knee suddenly to pick up something and now am limping.pulled muscle?

Adhesions: Probably you broke loose some intraarticular adhesions, they may cause some bleeding and swelling and when that happens you limp.Ice it and should get better in a couple of days.

pain around achilles tendon with a little swelling in the area. also pain in knee and muscle spasms in the back of the calf. does this sound like dvt? my leg feels kinda tight and heavy or is this a muscle strain? also have foot pain around ankle

Leg- heavy &amp; tight: Have you had a history of injury to your leg or ankle? Have you been involved in strenuous activities lately where you used your legs, such as walking, running or biking that was more than usual? 
It is important to see your PCP or Podiatrist right away for a clinical exam. After the clinical evaluation, the doctor can determine if you need to have a Venous Duplex done to rule out a DVT.

Hard to say: It is hard to say without more information.  Certainly would be unusual to describe a 15 month old child having knee pain as a "pulled muscle".  If it has been persistent, she would be well suited to see an orthopedic surgeon for an exam, X-ray, and potentially other studies.

Further evaluation will depend on the findings of that examination, but may include radiographs, an MRI or even an orthopedic surgeon consult.

Until you see your doctor, you will never know and just keep on worrying.

It could be pulled : Muscle around the knee or could be some related to lower back in which the pain will be radiating from the buttock to the knee.
Do you have any numbness? If you do most likely from the lower back area.
