Myositis: is a general term for inflammation of the muscle due to trauma. Proper rest, moist heat, NSAIDs OTC for pain control and passive stretching will resolve the condition in 10-14 days. If concerned see your PCP for consultation.

Could be: Since the MAMMO and the Chest X-ray were normal that is a good sign so far.  See your Doc to be safe and they can check your BP and assure it is not atypical Chest pain form your heart with a good History and Physical and possible EKG.  If that is all fine too, then most likely this would be Musculoskeletal.  Best wishes

Chest pain: Crushing pain should be evaluated at er, musuclar pain in chest would be aggravated positionally and with palpation. Heart pain would be assoicated with shortness of breath and sweating.

Yes: Most cancers of the breast don&#x27;t cause pain but some do, so what you describe could be almost anything.  At your age is not likely to be cancer but if it bothers you enough to ask, why don&#x27;t you have it checked by your doc?  Hopefully it will take a weight out of your mind.

Muscle verses nerve: Continue to use the rub, heating pad to treat the strain. If the numbness and tingling doesn't improve, the possibility of thoracic radiculopathy should be considered. Thoracic imaging such as MRI can be utilized for further work up

how do i treat an intercoastal muscle strain?swollen & pain.it is in the muscles below my breast. had clear xray and ct scan so not sure what to do.

Not much to do.: Usually these types of strains are self limiting but can last for three to six weeks, depending on severity. Intermittent cold applications to the area often times eases the pain. Rest and discontinuing of strenuous activity will certainly help. Medications like ibuprofen or muscle relaxants can also help. A trip to your physical therapist may be beneficial in speeding things up.

Sore?: Usually  a pulled muscle will result in pain when that muscle is contracted or pressure is applied.  Did you injure yourself?  can you apply pressure to the muscle and feel pain?  Pulled muscles will hurt for a while and then feel better.  But they can easily be reinjured.  Ibuprofen or aspirin work well for pulled muscle.  If not getting better or if getting worse see your MD
